Tunisia Economic City & ABC Technique FZE Inks an MOU to Build ‘Silicon Africa’

Tunisia Economic City (TEC) and Dubai based ABC Technique FZE signed today a Memorandum of Understanding to develop Africa’s first Information Technology hub under ‘Silicon Africa‘ within TEC project. ABC Technique FZE and its international partners will plan, design, build and manage the new city in partnership with TEC in a Public Private Partnership.

Silicon Africa will be built over an area of 1.6 square kilometers (1,600,000 square meters) within TEC project and will serve as a platform for IT companies from startups to the IT giants to look after the development of Information Technology, Internet of Things, research and development in related industries, showcase of innovations and will also have a residential district to house executives and employees, a hospitality, utilities and amenities center.

On his part, Mr. Nour Jabi, Managing Director of ABC Technique FZE said: “The new Silicon Africa City was in planning for the past several months and his team is excited and honored to be part of Tunisia Economic City mega project. ‘Silicon Africa’ will be a smart sustainable Eco-friendly city built using cutting edge technologies in design and building and will provide many inducements to its residents like free highest-speed WiFi coverage all over the city, smart city environment, and high end utilities and public transportation system among many more features”, Mr. Jabi added.
